Dear parents,

We are happy to invite your child to our upcoming Dance & Theatre Workshop, a creative 3-day camp where movement and acting come together in a fun and inspiring way.

Dates:
Wednesday, May 27 – Friday, May 29

Venue:
Kulturhaus Niederanven
145, route de Trèves

Morning Group (ages 7–10)
Arrival: 09:30 – 10:00

Theatre: 10:00 – 11:30
Dance: 11:30 – 13:30

Afternoon Group (ages 10–14)
Arrival: 13:30 – 14:00

Theatre: 14:00 – 15:30
Dance: 15:30 – 17:30

Day 1 – Arrive, Explore, Connect

The tone here is: feeling safe, playful, and curious

Theatre

  • Name + movement games (learning names through action)
  • Improvisation games (e.g. “Yes, and…”, emotion statues)
  • Exploring characters (animals, professions, fantasy figures)

Dance

  • Body awareness & warm-up through playful exercises
  • Exploring movement qualities (big/small, fast/slow, heavy/light)
  • Simple group choreography (very easy, repetitive, fun)

Goal of the day:
The children feel comfortable, start expressing themselves, and begin trusting the group.

Day 2 – Create & Experiment

The tone here is: trying things out, making choices

Theatre

  • Short improvisation scenes in small groups
  • Creating mini-stories (very simple: beginning–middle–end)
  • Voice, expression, and interaction

Dance

  • Learning a slightly longer choreography
  • Creating small movement sequences in pairs or groups
  • Exploring how movement can show emotions or stories

Combination moments

  • Connecting movement with scenes (e.g. entering a scene through dance)
  • Playing with transitions between acting and movement

Goal of the day:
They begin to own ideas—less guided, more creative input from them.

Day 3 – Deepen & Enjoy

The tone here is: confidence, presence, enjoyment

Theatre

  • Revisit favorite characters or scenes
  • Add small details (expression, voice, timing)
  • Light structure, but no pressure to “perfect”

Dance

  • Repeat and refine choreography
  • Play with performance quality (energy, facial expression, connection)
  • Group movement activities (synchronisation, awareness)

Closing moment (internal, not a show)

  • Sharing within the group (small “showing” just for themselves)
  • Reflection circle:
What did you enjoy? What was new? What was fun/challenging?

Goal of the day:
They feel proud, more confident, and aware of what they created—without external pressure.

What to bring
  • Comfortable clothes suitable for movement
  • Water bottle and snack
  • Indoor shoes (if needed)

We are looking forward to three inspiring days full of creativity, movement, and fun!
