Graduated with honors in literature and philosophy at the Federico II University of Naples, Roberta Bignardi began studying dance in 1987. Roberta graduated in 2002 from the Professional Ballet School of Salerno, Italy, in academic ballet, modern jazz and contemporary dance. She danced Roland Petit’s ballet La Chauve Souris with Luigi Ferrone, principal dancer of the San Carlo Theatre in Naples.

She worked at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno in the ballets La Traviata and Carmen. From 2003 to 2010 she was director of the ballet and dance school Millennium in Salerno. In 2003 she attended the classes of master Rafael Nieves at the Municipal Theater of Caracas and in 2004-2005 she participated in the choreography workshop at EIAA in Rome, with masters Mauro Bigonzetti, Mauro Astolfi Eugenio Buratti and Michele Merola.

 

In Bologna she attended the teachers’ course held by Elisabeth Platel, director of the Paris Opera Ballet School. She then took ballet and jazz classes at the Alvin Ailey School in New York.

She has continuously perfected her technique through workshops with renowned masters, such as Margherita Traianova, Hernan Piquin, Raffaele Paganini, Jody Goodman, Andre De La Roche, Bill Goodson.

She has collaborated with Daniele Cipriani Entertainment in the production and management of events and galas with international dance companies such as NYCB, American Ballet, Noche Flamenca.

She has also been involved in an intense activity as a dance critic and has taken Tango classes with the Argentine masters Miguel Angel Zotto, Pablo Verón, Corina Herrera and Pablo Rodriguez, Geraldine Rojas, Diego Converti and Graciela Gamba through trips to Buenos Aires with Antonio Libonati.
